Canton Customs Museum occupies the riverside Great Clock Tower on Yanjiang West Road. Completed in 1916 as the customs headquarters, it stands near the Thirteen Hongs and Xidi trading districts, preserving a chapter of Guangzhou's port history.

The clock tower and formal façade make the building a recognizable waterfront landmark. Customs linked shipping, taxation and overseas exchange, and its position beside the river explains its place in Guangzhou's modern urban image.

Former offices now house displays about customs and foreign trade. Look at both the century-old building and its relationship with neighboring waterfront architecture to understand Xidi's commercial past.
