Ancestral halls, houses, old lanes and public buildings preserve much of the traditional town pattern.
The town has strong musical, food and folk traditions, especially the He family's influence on Cantonese music. Liugeng Hall reflects clan organization, while smaller gates, homes and lanes preserve everyday history.
