Three Days in Huangpu: Temples, Tea and Village Landscapes

An eight-stop route through the district's maritime heritage, green hills and historic neighbourhoods.

Tickets, opening hours and event schedules may change. Check the venue or organiser's latest announcement before visiting.

Day one: old Huangpu

Begin at Nanhai God Temple, 66 Dianchang West Road, for Guangzhou's maritime history. The source lists Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00, last entry 16:30, and adult admission at $1.49 with concessions.

Continue to Xingfuli Historic Quarter around 116 Shihua Road in Wenchong, then Rongdeli around 92 Lubu Street in Shabu. The outdoor streets are listed as freely accessible, while exhibition interiors have separate hours.

Day two: forest, tea and plum trees

Start at Tianluhu Forest Park. The source lists 08:30–17:30 and adult admission at $0.75, with concessions. Choose a walking route before heading into the hills.

Visit Ruifeng Tea Culture Museum at 51 Yuerong Road, listed as free with a reservation, Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–17:30 and last entry 16:30. Finish at Luogang Xiangxue Park, 151 Yuyan Road, whose plum trees are a seasonal highlight. The source lists free entry and 06:00–22:00 access.

Day three: countryside and the academy

Jingxia Village offers a rural contrast, with public village areas open freely and individual activities keeping their own schedules. The source uses 16 Gaohechang Middle Street as a navigation point.

The final stop is the Former Site of Whampoa Military Academy, at 170 Junxiao Road on Changzhou Island. The source lists free reservations, Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00, last entry 16:30. This is a substantial transfer from Knowledge City, so leave enough travel time or visit the academy on a separate island day.

Before setting out

Treat the order as a suggested route, not a timed itinerary. Check museum reservations, Monday closures and current fares. Huangpu is geographically large; a realistic transport plan matters more than fitting every stop into each day.
